Gleann Cia-aig closure
24 Nov 2012
|We have been advised by the Forestry Commission that Gleann Cia-aig at the east end of Loch Arkaig is currently closed for the building of a hydro scheme and is likely to remain so until early 2014.
The closure will directly affect the trade
route to the Corbetts Meall na h-Eilde
Charn [Loch Arkaig] as well as to the Graham Glas Bheinn
[Loch Arkaig], although alternative access to these three is available
further west via the path from Achnasaul on the east side of the Allt Dubh.
Gleann Cia-aig is also often used to access the Munros Meall na Teanga
and Sron a’
Choire Ghairbh, although the trade route to these from Laggan Locks at the NE
end of Loch Lochy is unaffected.
Notes about the closure have been added to the MunroMagic mountain and route pages for all these hills.
