A brief summary of this route.

Our summary will always contain one of easy, moderate or hard to indicate the severity of the route.

 Notes
Easy climb with long walk in. Biggest problem is the risk of wet feet, although stepping stones are available if river is not in spate. Use of bicycle can be considered, but you will have to cycle through streams!

Here we provide the nearest town to the start of the route where you will find basic services.

We then give directions from that location to the route start. Your approach route may differ.

In winter months please check the local snow conditions at sais.gov.uk.

The hillphones service can inform you of stalking activities in the area.

Usually the shortest way to climb the mountain, making best use of tracks and paths to gain altitude. Route navigation requires map reading skills and an ability to navigate with a compass.

The information given here will enable you to annotate your map and plan your route. We do not give anecdotal descriptions on where to find the paths, worn by the feet of previous mountaineers.

Where the access routes are few or the ridge is narrow, paths are generally obvious. On open ground, following paths without using your compass may get you lost in poor visibility.

A very average but not unpleasant hill. Take a bike at least part way as the track is quite good and you'll be glad of it on the return leg.

Take a bike my son! I drove up from Lincs and did this in 4hrs the same day. The bike ride in has little ascent, watch out for the big stones on the fords! I steep ascent up the grassy banks of Chuirn leaves a lovely day with easy descent.

Long walk in but gives very good remote views. Fording the river can be quite a challenge at points. Good day though

Enjoyable if you take a friend to talk to on the long plod there and back. Excellenct views of the Bridge of Orchy Hills. The last half mile back to the car is uphill on tarmac and very frustrating!
