An estimate of the time taken based on a derivation of Naismiths rules. Our calculation is based on the horizontal and ascent components of a climb, we do not make a reduction for descent.
Registered users can customise these walking times by specifying their own walking and ascending speeds. They can also add a fixed time period for stoppages.

My son Alan and Collies Tino & Ollie climbed these on the 15th November 2009. Don’t be fooled by the description of an “Easy Day On Grassy Slopes” ! We slogged through the farm, then slid up the clay mud quagmire path through the woods. Once you get into the area after the second high fence it becomes more like a normal day’s hill-walking, however, as the contour lines indicate, the ascent of Meall Garbh is no cakewalk! I would advise anyone considering this area to beg steal or borrow 2 cars to do the 5 peaks from the visitor centre with both cars in one day!

The walk in up Lawers burn is as pleasant a walk as you would wish for the start of the day. Once you reach the dam you should keep to the right hand side or you will have a longer than anticipated walk through boggy ground and round the Lochan or as we did across the narrow gap with the water being bitterly cold. The overall walk was well worth the effort and deserves better credit than given. Absorb yourself in the Lawers.

These two make up the Eastern end of the Ben Lawers range and it seems a shame not to complete the entire ridge in one route - 5 Munros which can be completed easily if transport can be arranged. The route described here makes a better descent than ascent being grassy and a bit of a slog.
However you choose to climb these hills they can seem a little bland compaired to the rest of the Lawers range - although they do offer stunning views of Ben Lawers and An Stuc on a clear day and are usually much quieter.
