Notes
Strenuous route but with good access path and rocky ridges. If the route is too long, then climb Sgurr Fhuar-Thuill alone as the other 3 can all be climbed from the path into Coire Mhuillidh..

Travel Information
Head to: Beauly
From Beauly (A862) travel S, then W on A831 for 17km to Struy. The road to Strathfarrar is blocked by locked gate, therefore use bike or phone to arrange for access (0146-376260). Travel to power station and park (leave bikes) anywhere beyond the junction at NH283386 which marks the end of the climb.

Usually the shortest way to climb the mountain, making best use of tracks and paths to gain altitude. Route navigation requires map reading skills and an ability to navigate with a compass.
The information given here will enable you to annotate your map and plan your route. We do not give anecdotal descriptions on where to find the paths, worn by the feet of previous mountaineers.
Where the access routes are few or the ridge is narrow, paths are generally obvious. On open ground, following paths without using your compass may get you lost in poor visibility.

Great Day in fantastic weather. I rang the MCofS to obtain the combination to the gate and took my bike. I drove up to the end of the path coming down from Sgurr na Fearstaig and left the bike then drove back to the start by the Alt Coire Mhuillidh. Plodded around in just over 6hrs with amazing views then was very glad to see my bike to save my legs on the 4.5miles of road back to the car.

ACCESS:-Lovely woman gatekeeper on 01463 761260 (be patient you'll not always get a reply or connected). The gate into Strathfarrar normally opens 9am to 8 pm but you can still bike up it. I followed Alan Lee's suggestion and did this route in reverse. Leave bike at "2" and car at "10". Walk up from the car an obvious good dry path leads right up to just infront of the bealach. Follow the ridge and the rest of your day is obvious.
