An estimate of the time taken based on a derivation of Naismiths rules. Our calculation is based on the horizontal and ascent components of a climb, we do not make a reduction for descent.
Registered users can customise these walking times by specifying their own walking and ascending speeds. They can also add a fixed time period for stoppages.

A demanding route, which could be shortened by missing out Carn Bhac and / or Glas Tulaichean
|
|
|
 |
Head to: Braemar
From Braemar take the minor road signposted for Linn of Dee to Inverey. Free parking on the grass verges. Take the track (Private Road, No Cars sign) up Glen Ey. Mountain bike strongly recommended. Allow one hour up to Altanour Lodge.

Did these 4 munros last Sunday, left 1 car at Inverey and parked 2nd inside driveway to Dalmunzie hotel at Spittal of Glenshee. S to N linear through route with sun at our backs. Excellent track to near summit of G.T. then descent to contouring path around to bealach before C.a.R., quick up and down and then traversing path from bealach to col before B.L.M -descend scree to E of Lochan Uaine and yomp across surprisingly dry ground to 920m bump on ridge and C.B summit.Descend NE to allt Connie and good path/track back to Inverey, took 9.5 hrs with superb views of Cairngorms

This route is actually 41km long with ascents of app 1770 metres!
Missing out Carn an Righ and Glas Tulaichen reduces it to 30km!
Strenuous with lots of deep peat hags and tussocky heather, few tracks, very slow going. Using a bike still takes about 12hours. Ascents up Beinn lutharn Mhor, Carn an Righ and Glas Tulaichen very steep.
One for the masochists!
