An Dorus, mid-May 2006, with a large block of snow making scrambling a bit harder. Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh left and Sgurr a' Mhadaidh right, and Coire an Dorus below.

View across the Eag Dubh gap (of Sgurr a Ghreadaidh's North ridge). Note the wide ledge slanting up to right on the opposite side of the gap, which gives the easiest route back up onto the ridge from the base of the gap down left.

The South top of Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh, with the SW ridge looking sensationally narrow running down right. Hadn't time to complete the traverse to Banachdich, so will return another day!

Looking West into Eag Dubh. This gap is easily passed by a short scramble down from the ridge right, best regained left by the gently-rising broad ledge visible on the dark shadow side (good hand-holds, feels less exposed than the rock slab alternative).

Looking up the North ridge of Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh towards 'The Wart' (like a facial profile looking up and left) from just above the climb out of An Dorus. The North cliff is easily passed to the right on boulders and scree.

From a vantage point on Sgurr a' Mhadaidh above An Dorus, I watched this group with a guide (in pink) tackling the rock wall at the beginning of the ascent of Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh's North ridge - the only bit of 'Grade 3 Scrambling' involved.

Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh seen from the stone shoot on Sgurr Alasdair. Note especially 'The Wart', the curious rocky feature just right of the summit (actually on the North ridge), which from this angle resembles an upwardly-inclined ancient Egyptian mask.
