Descending the SW ridge of Sgurr an Utha, just emerging below cloud level. The forest road which I ascended, then later rejoined for descent, is seen across the valley on slopes of Druim na Brein-choille.

View of the rough plateau area between Druim na Brein-choille and Fraoch-bheinn (which is beyond, in cloud). Route became impractical to walk on a compass bearing owing to giant rocky outcrops, but GPS was brilliant for finding summit.

Sgurr an Utha from SW. Taken from the forest road, which then climbs the slopes of Druim na Brein-choille. I later descended the ridge seen running towards us, crossed the stream and rejoined this road.

Looking north across Loch Shiel from the Callop - Guesachan estate road, with Fraoch-bheinn seen above the houses of Glenfinnan village. Sgurr an Utha summit is hidden on left behind the slope of Druim na Brein-choille. November 2006.
