Paris 2024 organisers plan to include sport climbing for second time in Olympics |

Organisers of the 2024 Olympic Games want to include sport climbing in the event.
The discipline is already scheduled for the 2020 Tokyo games, but the committee behind the following event, which will be staged in Paris, are proposing climbing again form part of the major sporting competition

Buxton team first in England and Wales to gain CAA approval for drone use in rescues |

A Peak District team said it is the first mountain rescue team in England and Wales to be granted approval to use drones in its operations.
The Buxton team said the Civil Aviation Authority authorisation will allow its drone team to use the unmanned aircraft to search for missing persons in places where access is difficult or unsafe for team members

A ‘Tolkein-esque’ view of a Peak District hill has been judged top photo in a competition marking the 70th anniversary of the foundation of national parks in England and Wales.
Kieran Metcalfe’s picture of Parkhouse Hill beat almost 1,500 other entries to gain top prize in the contest organised by the Campaign for National Parks and UK National Parks

The Ordnance Survey triangulation circle mysteriously disappeared from the top of Blencathra last year
