Five men will walk to the top of Wales’s highest mountain in memory of a friend who fell to his death on the hill earlier this year.
The five, all from the Stockport area, will tackle the route to the 1,085m (3,560ft) summit of Snowdon next month to raise cash for mountain rescuers and Help for Heroes

Police say the two men who died on a munro in the southern Highlands have been formally identified.
Alan McCaskie, 63, of Broughty Ferry, Dundee, and David Martin, 61, of Kinghorn in Fife died when their microlight aircraft crashed near the summit of Ben More near Crianlarich on Saturday

Outdoor guidebook specialist Cicerone’s Cycling the Pennine Bridleway describes the section from northern Lancashire to Ravenstonedale in Cumbria

Police are appealing for help from the public after the body of a protected bird of prey was found.
Derbyshire Constabulary said the buzzard, which was found in a tree by dog walkers, had gunshot wounds

Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team was joined in the rescue on Snowdon by colleagues from the RAF Valley Mountain Rescue Team

Walkers and outdoor enthusiasts now have access to a second bothy on a Hebridean isle.
The Mountain Bothies Association has taken over the care of the Cruib building on Jura, but the association said the estate which owns the shelter is asking visitors to let them know if they are going to use it during the stalking season

Organisers of the Ten Tors challenge said 251 of the 2,400 starters had to drop out because of minor sprains and strains
