Mountain Description
|
|
|
Beinn na h-Uamha is rough rocky hill lying between Glen Gour and Strontian Glen to the S and Gleann Mhic Phail to the N. The hill can be accessed fron Strontian or Sallachan, but the latter is closer and has the advantage of a track on the S side of the River Gour (N.B. un-bridged river to cross). Beinn na h-Uamha has three main ridges running NE to Meall nan Ruadhlag (431m), SE to Stob an Uillt Dharaich (462m) and W via a 555m col to Sgurr a' Chaorainn - from where a spur runs SE to Sgurr na Laire (624m). This is a very rocky hill with steepish slopes but can be climbed without scrambling.
