Mountain Description
Ben Hee is a large mass of winding ridges and 4 distinct tops, rising from the E shore of Loch Merkland. The summit overlooks a large corrie cut into its E slopes, and much of Ben Hee's eastern slopes are steep and rocky. From the summit ridges run NE to an un-named top (851m) where it branches to form 3 minor ridges; W to Sail Garbh (677m) then NW turning W to a smaller unnamed top (582m); finally SW to Meallan Liath Mor (683m) turning SE to Meallan Liath Beag (503m). Sail Garbh has a rocky corrie on its N face, but the Meallan Liaths are creag free with moderate slopes.

Parking can be had immediately after the house at west Merkland just beyond the bridge. The stalkers path that is marked on the map that runs parallel with the Allt Coir’ a’ Chruiteir is not particularly good and in parts has fallen into the river so care is needed if the river is in spate. The terrain in general was very wet on ascent.
