Applecross is a historic village known as the Sanctuary in
Gaelic. Reached by the impressive mountain pass Bealach na Ba, at the
heart of the peninsula lies Applecross Bay with fabulous views across to
Skye and Raasay. Hartfield House is approximately 3/4 of a mile off
the main road, which skirts the bay and stands at the foot of the glen
following the line of the Applecross River. The house is an old hunting
lodge set in its own grounds and sleeps 29 in a mix of twin and triple
bedrooms with ample hot showers and restful common areas.
Applecross is well regarded for its unspoilt wilderness with
outstanding walking, cycling and kayaking on the doorstep. It's
cultural and religious heritage offers excellent sites of historic and
archaeological interest.
